2026 Truk Lagoon
March 7 - 14, 2026
Considered one of the best wreck diving destinations in the world, Truk Lagoon (aka Chuuk) has over 60 wrecks to explore including warships, supply vessels, planes and a submarine. Surrounded by a coral reef and protected from currents, the wrecks are relatively shallow making the diving perfect for recreational and technical divers alike.
The main naval base for the Empire of Japan's South Pacific operations, the Japanese fleet used Truk for attacks on the allied forces. In 1944 the U.S. led a major attack called “Operation Hailstone” which surprised the fleet resulting in the wealth of dive sites available to divers to this day.
Divers can enjoy many of the historical artifacts and instruments of war during their dive including instrument telegraphs, mounted guns, bottles, tea pots, and gas masks. Since the wrecks are surrounded by a coral reef, there are many excellent coral pinnacles and deep channels with schooling pelagics too!

Diving in Truk Lagoon is an adventure you will never forget. WWII wrecks are scattered across 77 square miles. The wrecks are covered with life. There are over 300 varieties of hard and soft corals. On the outer reef you'll find mountains of coral that stretch as far as the eye can see, and drops off into the abyss. Here it is not unusual to see pelagic sharks.
The water temperature ranges from 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Visability ranges from 30' to 100' depending on where you are in the lagoon and there is little current.
